FAQ

  • How much does the HD3000 cost?

The purchase price of the HD3000 varies with the options selected for each machine. Please contact LHD directly with pricing inquiries.

  • How does HD3000 keep both the hot dog and bun fresh?

Inside the machine each hot dog and bun is stored individually sealed. This ensures both products remain fresh until cooked. The hot dogs are stored at 41 degrees F (5 degrees C) inside a temperature monitored refrigerator - your hot dog is stored cold, not frozen. The individually wrapped buns are stored at ambient temperature inside the machine, which prolongs their shelf life and preserves freshness. Additionally, the HD3000's computer electronically monitors the shelf life of each hot dog and bun to ensure that only fresh product is served.

  • How does HD3000 attain the grilled quality of hot dogs?

LHD's patented grilling oven uses infrared technology to sear the hot dog's exterior, locking in its flavor and giving the hot dog that crispy skin you expect from a grilled hot dog. The core of the hot dog is warmed using a microwave.

  • How are consumers assured that the entire food preparation process is safe?

HD3000 has an illuminated customer window through which the customer can view the entire vend process, from the time the hot dog is taken out of the refrigerator to the time that it is dispensed. In short, the hot dogs are cooked right in front of customers' eyes, to reassure them of the quality of both the machine and the product being served.

  • How long can hot dogs and buns be stored fresh in the machine?

Hot dogs can be stored in the HD3000 fresh for 21 days. Buns remain fresh for a maximum of 10 days. The HD3000's inventory system allows operators to set a lower amount of days in inventory based on the food products used, but not a higher amount of days.

  • What about condiments?

Individual packets of condiments are dispensed through a portal in the front of the machine. When the hot dog is ready, that portal unlocks allowing the customer to select the condiment he or she desires.

  • What is the cooking time?

Cooking time varies between 25- 55 seconds depending on the size of hot dog selected. The total vend cycle time is about one minute.

  • Does the product require special packaging requirements?

Because both the buns and hot dogs are packaged and sealed separately, the packaging process requires two individual packing machines. The buns can be packaged using LHD's exclusively designed bun packager or by adapting most high-speed lidding machine. The hot dogs require LHD's exclusive hot dog packager.

  • Where do you buy hot dogs and buns?

Vending machine operators are free to source their own hot dogs and buns, either directly from sausage manufacturers and bakeries or from food service wholesalers.

  • How is the machine cleaned?

After each vend, the oven's infrared element activates and sanitizes all cooking surfaces in a self-cleaning mode. This ensures the proper removal of all food residue from the cooking surfaces. A removable drip tray, located beneath the hot dog oven, catches any excess liquid that escapes the hot dog during the cooking cycle.

  • Where can the HD3000 be located?

Practically, everywhere! In schools, offices, factories, hospitals, gas stations, rest areas, stadiums, rail stations and other high-traffic public areas. Unlike other vending machines, the HD3000 requires no special electrical preparation. Just place the HD3000 at a location and plug it into a 20 amp, 110 volt dedicated circuit. (230 volt version also available for international operators.)

  • Are customized graphics possible for the HD3000?

Absolutely! Please refer to our branded machine section for more information on this fantastic opportunity.
